WELCOME TO YOUTH AT FUMC ALABASTER
Hey Friends! We are so glad you are visiting us today! The student ministry here at FUMC Alabaster exists to serve and support the spiritual and developmental growth of our students. We believe that we are called to actively participate in the work of the church by reaching others for christ, pushing ourselves to grow in our faith, and seeking out ways to serve those around us.
Sunday Nights
Youth Nights at FUMC Alabaster are a great time for 6th-12th grade students to have fun, connect with friends, and grow in faith. Each Sunday night focuses on one of four core themes: Serve, Grow, Reach, and Worship.
On Serve Nights, we live out our faith by participating in local service projects, discovering how to love and serve others like Jesus. Grow Nights are all about deepening your relationship with God through Bible studies, small groups, and practical lessons. Reach Nights are designed for fun and connection, making them the perfect time to invite friends and welcome new faces. Finally, on Worship Nights, we come together for powerful worship, prayer, and a message that helps us focus on our spiritual growth. Sundays are the perfect time to bring a friend, make new connections, and grow in your relationship with God. We can’t wait to see you there!
Wednesday Nights
Join us for Wednesday Night Bible Study from 6:00-7:00 PM in the Youth Room! We kick off the evening with fun games and then transition into a time of Bible study, where students can explore their faith and dive into topics that matter to them. All middle and high school students are welcome to attend, and you can jump in at any time throughout the year!
(it’s not a ‘Members Only’ club).
Sunday School
Join us for Sunday School on Sunday mornings! Students 4th grade and up can start the day in the Youth Room with donuts and fellowship. At 10:00 AM, we break out into groups: Step Up meets with Mrs. Leslie, and Youth Sunday School gathers in Room 206. Our Youth Sunday School uses Echo the Story, a dynamic program that takes students through key Bible stories, helping them connect with God’s narrative, uncover new insights, and grow in their faith and community. It’s a great way to dive deeper into the Bible and build lasting connections!
Confirmation
Confirmation at Alabaster FUMC is an important milestone for young people exploring their faith. It's a time when our 6th grade students, with the support of their families and church community, take a step forward in embracing their beliefs. Through teachings and discussions led by pastors, staff, and Confirmation mentors, students will get the opportunity to learn more about the Christian faith and what it means to be a part of The United Methodist Church. It's a time for personal growth and discovery, where they can ask questions, learn from others, and make a personal commitment to follow Jesus Christ. Confirmation empowers the Confirmands to become active participants in the life of the church, preparing them to live out their faith with integrity, compassion, and purpose.
Confirmation Classes start each year in August and conclude in March with a celebration service on Confirmation Sunday. During this service, the confirmands will have the opportunity to be confirmed, be baptized (if they haven’t already), and join the Church.
