What is Youth Winter Retreat
Rooted is a weekend getaway designed just for middle and high school students, hosted by FUMC Alabaster. It’s all about deepening your faith, building community, and having an unforgettable experience with God and friends. Whether you’ve been in church your whole life or are just starting to ask questions, this retreat is for you.
Through powerful worship, creative activities, and meaningful discussions, you’ll get a chance to reflect on your life and discover just how much God loves you. It’s a time to be yourself and explore who God is calling you to be.
The weekend is packed with fun—games, small group time, skits, worship sessions, and great food. High school leaders will also share messages to inspire and challenge you. We can’t wait to see what God does through this retreat, and we’d love for you to be part of it!
Who is Winter Retreat for?
Everyone! But to be a little more specific—this retreat is designed for middle and high school students, led by adult leaders, and most importantly, guided by God’s love. We believe everyone deserves the chance to experience the grace and love of Christ. So when we say everyone, we mean it!
Whether you’ve been coming to FUMC Alabaster for years or have never set foot inside, this weekend is for you. This isn’t just a church thing—it’s a Jesus thing. God is the true host of this retreat, and we are all His guests. No matter where you are in your journey, YOU are welcome here!
How much does it cost?
The cost for the retreat is $200 per student. But don’t let that stop you—cost will never be a reason for a student to miss out on this incredible weekend. We offer both partial and full scholarships to make sure anyone who wants to attend can do so. If you need financial assistance, just indicate that in the registration process, and we’ll work with you to make sure you're able to be part of this life-changing experience. Everyone is welcome, no matter what!

Photo Release Policy
It is the policy and practice of FUMC Alabaster Student Ministry that during any and all programs, events and worship experiences that there may be photographs and video footage taken and published on our various social media platforms that could include you/your student without financial compensation or consideration.
